Playgroup of the Year Winners 2008
Playgroups in SA were asked to demonstrate why families love coming to their playgroup. What is special about their playgroup, what sort of activities do they offer families...They were asked to tell Playgroup SA (in any way they choose) about their playgroup.
Country Winner - Mallala Playgroup

Playgroup SA staff and Board were very impressed with this entry. The Mallala Playgroup created a wonderful display of photographs which told the story of their unique group. Each week they include at least two special activities which compliment their regular program. We noticed that the Mallala Playgroup makes full use of both indoor and outdoor play spaces. Children attending this playgroup very lucky and are obvisoulsy thriving in this setting. Congratulations!
Metropolitan Winner - Ferryden Park Playgroup

A huge effort was put into this fantastic Playgroup of the Year Entry. The Ferryden Park Playgroup has gone to great lengths to display the amazing array of activities that are on offer for families each and every week. Adults provide for every area of play including, dance/music, sensory, craft and physical play. The judges also noticed the many fathers and grandfathers that attend the playgroup which always enriches the experience for children immensely. Congratulations!
Both winners were presented with their plaques by Jane Reilly during Playgroup @ the Zoo event in October and also had a visit from Playgroup SA staff to celebrate and receive their prizes. Thank you to both playgroups for their generous hospitality on the day.
