Ipswich Fun Day in the Park - 24 March 2009
Families flocked to Queen's Park at Ipswich on Tuesday for a fun, colourful and messy day in the park. Over 300 families attended the National Playgroup Week celebration which included a morning of face painting, play dough, water play, physical play, parachute fun, visit from the Fire Brigade, bubbles, giveaways and much more.
The Ipswich Playgroup awards were also presented at the event by Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale, who shared the children's joy by participating in a number of the fun activities. Playgroup Queensland was thrilled to welcome the Ipswich Mayor, who proudly donned a National Playgroup Week shirt for the day.
Ipswich City Council has supported National Playgroup Week 2009 by displaying a banner across Brisbane Road, Ipswich. The banner was made and displayed at no cost to Playgroup Queensland.
In addition to National Playgroup Week support offered by Ipswich City Council, the council recently granted approval for Playgroup Queensland to access the Karalee Community Centre. Thank you to Ipswich City Council and Mayor Paul Pisasale for your continued support of Playgroups in the Ipswich area.
Thank you to all the families who attended Queen's Park and a special thanks to volunteers and staff who helped to make the day a wonderful success.
