Free membership for all first time parents
Do you have a child under the age of 9 months?
In 2010, Playgroup Queensland, as a member of Playgroup Australia, will be offering free membership to all first time parents with a child under the age of 9 months. Our Take Time to Play campaign will celebrate the importance of play for new families within the community.
Upon obtaining free membership, parents may join existing groups or form their own Playgroups and are entitled to all member benefits and services including comprehensive insurance, access to our state-wide network of Toy Libraries, a free Australian Baby Card valued at $30, Playgroup Queensland resources, and Speakers Tour discounts. Ongoing membership in 2011 will attract the Association's membership fee.

Playgroup is a place for you and your child to interact with other parents/caregivers and children. As well as providing opportunities for children to play and learn, Playgroup brings people together to share and develop friendships.

At Playgroup your baby will:
- Gain social confidence
- Socialise with other babies, toddlers, preschoolers and adults
- Develop new skills and find out about self
- Have fun, laugh and learn through play
- Start to become a life long learner and prepare for school
Conditions of Free Membership
- This offer is for first time parents only with an infant child under the age of 9 months.
- Parents may form their own Playgroup with a minimum of 5 families.
- This offer is not extended to current members of Playgroup Queensland.
- Each family accepted as a member is entitled to all member benefits and services.
- Upon acceptance of membership each member agrees to abide by the Association's conditions of affiliation, Constitution and By Laws, policies and procedures as amended from time to time.
- Ongoing membership in future years will attract the Association's annual membership fee.
- This offer does not apply to weekly Playgroup attendance fees (average $3.00 per week).
- The offer may be withdrawn at any time at the discretion of the Association's Board.
