It is very simple to start your own Playgroup.  If you have two or more friends and your children wish to start your own group, you simply join the Playgroup Association as separate families and then register your new playgroup's name.  There is no fee to register your group.

A Playgroup Association Development Officer will arrange to meet with you at the site and is available to assist in the establishment of your Playgroup.  The Development Officer can assist in many ways, including:

• Advice about safety aspects of the location and facility;
• Advice for establishing guidelines and administration of your new Playgroup;
• Advice and assistance to promote the Playgroup for other families in the area;
• Advice and assistance with ideas for children's activities.

The Development Officers in Darwin and Alice Springs are available to meet with you and your new playgroup members for the first four sessions of your group.  You may also be entitled to borrow toys and equipment from the Playgroup Association for up to six months to help get you started.
