Playgroups operate in almost every suburb of Darwin and rural and remote towns across the Northern Territory. To find a Playgroup that suits your needs, contact us
When you contact the Playgroup Association you will be asked some questions. We need to know:
- Where you live?
- How old is your child / children?
- What do you and your child need to get out of your Playgroup experience?
The answers to these questions will help us to determine the group or groups that will best suit your needs. It is important to remember that each group is different as the participants of the playgroup decide how they will operate, what guidelines will be implemented and which activities will be provided for the children.
The Playgroup Association of the Northern Territory will identify three groups and give you contact details and information about each site. You will then be invited to contact the group, ask questions about how the playgroup operates and arrange for a visit. You are entitled to two FREE visits to each new Playgroup you try. On your third visit to a group, you will be asked to become a member of the Playgroup Association and contribute session fees each time you visit the playgroup. Session fees vary between playgroups, but are generally between $2.00 and $3.00 per family.
If, for any reason, you do not like one or more of the groups during your first two visits, you are welcome to contact the Playgroup Association again for contact details to other groups. You receive two FREE visits to each group you try until you find the Playgroup you feel most comfortable with.
