Wow, what an amazing week of celebrations for National Playgroup Week. Perfect weather, fantastic turnouts across the state with huge numbers at Holroyd Gardens, Sydney’s Eastern suburbs and in Lismore.

Tens of thousands of people and hundreds of organisations celebrate National Families Week - Australia's annual celebration of families.
National Families Week is timed to coincide with the United Nations International Day of Families on 15 May. This United Nations day marks the importance that the international community places on families as the most fundamental units of society, as well as to draw attention to the plight of families in many parts of the world.
First direct link of passive smoking to cot death
Researchers in Sydney have found the first direct evidence that exposure to cigarette smoke increases the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
The research, conducted by the University of Sydney's Bosch Institute, found exposure to second-hand smoke caused changes to babies' brain cells.
Top ten baby boom suburbs!
Blacktown is the top Sydney suburb for new babies followed by Bankstown, Auburn and Merrylands. The top regional areas are Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and Orange.
