Hello and welcome to the second issue of our e-newsletter. We have some great new information and updates as well as fabulous giveaways.
World's Biggest Playgroup Day
Thousands of families with under school age children will take part in National Playgroup week, our annual celebration running from 22 to 28 March. Don’t miss out on the major event, Worlds Biggest Playgroup Day on Wednesday 25 March which will be held in each capital city and many regional locations.
The Sydney event will be at Holroyd Gardens Merrylands starting at 10am and other major events at Lismore and eastern suburbs.
The theme this year is Bringing families together, which is what playgroups do so well.
Thanks to major sponsor Tyres & More, with over 70 stores nationally, they make car care child’s play!
Vroom vroom…Volvo prizes to be won here!
You still have a chance to enter the $1,000 for Your Playgroup competition thanks to our State Sponsor Volvo who joins us again this year. There are also additional prizes of miniature Volvo ride-on cars and the Win a Volvo for the Weekend competition.

Victoria Playgroups affected by bushfires
We have received many calls from concerned members asking about the wellbeing of their Victorian counterparts. Sadly some venues and equipment were either lost of damaged during the bushfires.
Appeals have been set up and information is now up on the Playgroup Victoria website.
We're lovin' Love Living
In the last issue we announced our new fundraising partnership with Love Living. The on line home shopping service continues to offer a minimum of 20 per cent of sales back to Playgroup NSW from each order to support member resources and activities.
If you haven’t had the chance to check out all the great products, go to the Playgroup NSW website, click on the Love Living banner and follow the prompts. There is a wonderful catalogue of products to choose from.
Bandaged Children’s Bear turns 20
Bandaged Bear, the lovable mascot of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, turns 20 in March and is encouraging community members to donate or to buy a clip-on bear for the Bandaged Bear Day Appeal during March with Bandaged Bear Day on 27 March 2009.
Bandaged Bear has worn many coloured coats over the years and will this year sport a party themed coat, in honour of this momentous milestone.
Desperately seeking dads
We’re desperately seeking dads of 2, 3 or 4 year old children. If this is you, no doubt you are involved in the day by day process of teaching your pre-schooler how to cope with and manage their emotions. What factors contribute to this important, but challenging job? Complete the online questionnaire to participate in this study for a chance to win a $100 shopping voucher!
