Worlds Biggest Playgroup 2009

The 2009 World’s Biggest Playgroup Day will be held on Wednesday 25 March with simultaneous activities in several places across the State. The Sydney event will be at Holroyd Gardens Merrylands near Parramatta in the geographic centre of Sydney. Last year’s event was a great success at this lovely family-friendly venue and we are hoping that 2009 will be just as much fun.

World’s Biggest Playgroup is a celebration of learning through play. There will be a host of free activities for children, concerts and performances, giveaways and information for parents and caregivers.

Dorothy the Dinosaur show, courtesy of Wiggly Play Centre, Wild Aussies, Captain Bandanna will get you all up, moving and grooving!

The children will be able to bounce with Specialty Castles, pat the animals from Misty Ridge Animal Farm. Tumble Town Mobile Fun Softplay Play Centre will again support us with amazing mobile outdoor softplay centres.

Bring your own picnic, rugs, chairs and sun hats and spend the day singing and dancing, climbing and playing. There will be numerous activity spaces for Playgroup children and babies (and their grown-ups!), including Bubble Wands, drawing, play dough, threading and puppet-making, led by the friendly staff of Playgroup NSW.

And Holroyd Gardens is a great year-round family venue, with leafy parklands, an adventure playground, a special disability- accessible little kids’ playground and a trike-friendly Road Safety Track. So come prepared for a great day out!

And in other parts of NSW? As well as the Sydney event, there will be another major gathering in Lismore on the Far North Coast and several others in regional centres throughout NSW.

Volvo were delighted with the success of last year’s event and thrilled to see how the $1,000 awarded to the Milton Playgroup helped renovate the children’s play area. So naturally they've jumped at the opportunity to get involved again this year with World’s Biggest Playgroup Day. It’ll be an exciting year next year for Volvo with the launch of their new vehicle the XC60, with industry leading City Safety technology.
