Worlds Biggest Playgroup 2008

On a bright sunny day, approximately 3000 children and families from across Sydney celebrated National Playgroup Week with Playgroup NSW at it's 2nd World's Biggest Playgroup Event on Wednesday 30th April, at Holroyd Gardens, Merrylands.

To help us celebrate, Christi Malthouse from Channel 10's 9AM with David and Kim attended the event with a roving camera crew to capture all the action in a live cross.

Dorothy the Dinosaur Show, courtesy of Wiggly Play Centre, Go Seek, Pete and the Funky Bugs, Rhythm Factory Movement Dance Music Show, got us all up, moving and grooving!

The children were able to bounce with Specialty Castles, pat the animals from Misty Ridge Animal Farm. Tumble Town Mobile Fun Softplay Play Centre again supported us with two amazing mobile outdoor softplay centres.

There were free My Child magazines and Vegemite Little Aussie Readers, with jars of Vegemite handed out. Huggies provided balloons and Nappy Change stations. The Tyres and More staff gave child restraint-fitting demonstrations for parents.

Volvo Australia had display cars with a Road Safety area and great little ride-on cars for kids plus their fabulous competition for one lucky playgroup member to win a $1000 for their playgroup. Which playgroup was the lucky winner?

Playgroup NSW staff provided activity spaces for the children with bubble wands and water play, slime, wet chalk drawing, playdough, threading and ballplay for the babies. Do the activities again!
