National Playgroup Week 2008
Tyres and More stores have free copies of the Vegemite Little Aussie Readers, that were provided at National Playgroup Week Events, available to Playgroup NSW members.
Sunday 27 April to Saturday 3 May 2008 Playgroups right across Australia celebrated National Playgroup Week from 27 April to 3 May 2008, and took part in the World’s Biggest Playgroup on Wednesday 30th April. Playgroups were encouraged to celebrate with a special event on the day. This year, it inspired events in over 100 locations around the country. The Federal Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), Jenny Macklin officially launched National Playgroup Week at Playgroup NSW's World's Biggest Playgroup Event. Singer and entertainer, Nikki Webster gave the crowd a special surprise when she performed for the crowd of over 3,000 young children and parents, then cut her 21st birthday cake and shared it around! |  |
Playgroup Australia is grateful for the sponsorship of national sponsor Tyres & More and for the support of Centro, Vegemite and Copeland Publishing. There were 16 Centro shopping centres and 70 Tyres & More stores around the nation who took part by giving away Vegemite Little Aussie Readers and information about the benefits and fun of playgroup participation.
