Volunteer of the Year 2006Amy Grigg Penrith South Gumnuts Playgroup.
- We all know that it is the people – not the facilities or resources – that are the heart of a great playgroup.
- 2006 is the inaugral Playgroup NSW Volunteer of the Year Award and there were many worthy nominations, but of course, there can only be one winner. This years recipient is Amy Grigg.
- Amy Grigg joined Penrith South Gumnuts in mid 2005, when there were only 2 members left at the playgroup.
- Amy struggled to keep the group going, and with perseverance and commitment from Amy, eventually the members started to join.
- By May 2006, there were so many members that a new session was started!
- Amy was elected as Co-ordinator of Nepean Zone Playgroups in June 2006. She is regarded as a superstar by her playgroup members!
