MyTime for Grandparents

MyTime for Grandparents is a national network of peer support groups for grandparent carers who are the full-time carers of their grandchildren up to 18 years.

Grandparents meet in groups and find out about local support that is available for them as they care for their grandchildren. MyTime groups provide a place to meet with their grandparents to discuss issues that affect their lives. Grandparents can socialise and share ideas with other who understand their caring role

What will you get out of MyTime for grandparents?

  • Meet other grandparents in similar circumstances
  • Have fun, hear from other and share experiences
  • Find out about available community support
  • Get extra information about your role as a carer
  • Make time for yourself while children play, supported by a play helper

How does MyTime Work?

Groups run during school terms and are coordinated by an experienced group facilitator. Each group has between 4 and 12 grandparents and usually meets once a fortnight for a couple of hours.

Grandparents who want to bring their grandchildren along can attend a group while a play helper keeps the children busy and active.

Who can join?

Any grandparents who is the full-time carer (formally or informally) of a grandchild aged up to 18 years can attend whether you are at work or retired.
