Program Coordinator - Early Intervention

Summary

The Program Coordinator - Early Intervention is a pivotal role in the implementation of the Early Intervention Programs managed by Playgroup NSW.  This position will work with the Program Manager to oversee the implementation, management and evaluation of the Early Intervention Playgroup Programs.

This person will work in accordance with each Program’s Guidelines developed by The Parent Research Centre for the MyTime Programs and by Playgroup Australia for the Supported Playgroup and the PlayConnect Playgroups.

The position will be responsible for the day to day coordination and implementation of the National Supported Playgroup Program, MyTime Programs and PlayConnect Playgroup Program.  Tasks include site recommendation, ensuring broad representation of target groups, quality assurance and compliance, risk management, support of Development Workers and Facilitators, collection of data and evaluation analysis and timely report preparation.

Playgroup NSW Early Intervention Programs target families with children under school age that would not normally access a Community Playgroup and may include Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse families, families with a member who has a disability or mental illness, teenage and young parent families, older first time parents, families that are isolated or disadvantaged and Grandparents.

Skills & Knowledge Required

Qualifications, Experience and/or Training
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or considerable experience in early childhood or community development or social work is mandatory
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in project management, including demonstrated ability to work with a team of paid and volunteer staff.
  • A demonstrated ability and affinity to work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve program objectives and organisational goals.
  • Current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured motor vehicle.
  • A high level of computer literacy, proficiency at data collection and competency in report writing.
  • Experience working with CALD, Indigenous, and vulnerable families is highly desired.
