Board of ManagementPlaygroup NSW is a not for profit community lead organisation that has an elected voluntary Board of Management which oversees policy and direction for the organisation.
The Association is, as Playgroups are, a growing, changing body, reflecting the views and enthusiasm of its members. Download your copy of the Constitution Role of the BoardThe Board of Management represent all Playgroups. Board Members attend regular monthly meetings to conduct the business of the Board. The role of the Board is to establish the organisational purpose and strategic direction, develop and monitor policies, work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure that the Association’s objectives are met, and to ensure the survival of the Association over time. The Board ensures the organisation supports members appropriately, and meets the responsibilities of all legal, financial and contractual obligations. You can contact the Board via email on board@playgroupnsw.com.au Playgroup NSW is managed by a dedicated staff team lead by the CEO, who are responsible for the day to day operations of Playgroup NSW.Playgroup NSW has a team of skilled and experienced staff that are available to assist members and prospective members with their enquiries and provide support in the establishment and management of playgroups across NSW. This support is provided to families and workers in all playgroup types, and in all locations. Playgroup NSW provides and supports a range of playgroup models, including parent-lead Community Playgroups, staff facilitated Supported Playgroups and MyTime groups, which are facilitated parent support groups for families with children with a disability. Office staff provide a phone referral service for prospective members searching for a new playgroup, and provide information and support to assist families find the right playgroup for them. They also process new memberships and ensure that the membership card and any other vital information is sent on to the member, to make their attendance at playgroup as easy as possible. Our Head Office staff compile and distribute a range of useful Playgroup information, starter kits, updates and helpful resources on a regular basis. And they are very happy to answer all manner of member phone inquiries on issues relevant and important to playgroup development and management including promotions, insurance, conflict resolution, fundraising advice and venue leasing concerns for prospective or affiliated groups. Playgroup NSW also has a team of itinerant Regional Development Consultants who work directly with the members at Zone and Playgroup level to provide support and training. They also promote the work of the association to the wider community, provide BabyPlay and a range of other parenting workshops for families with young children and engage with professionals across the Early Childhood, Health and Community Services sector to promote the benefits of playgrouping for all families. We also employ a diverse range of skilled and experienced part time staff to facilitate and support the day to day activities of more than 75 Supported Playgroups and MyTime groups across NSW.
