National Playgroup Week
National Playgroup Week 21 March to 27 March 2010
 | Playgroup Australia, in partnership with State and Territory Playgroup Associations, will celebrate National Playgroup Week from 21 to 27 March 2010. Families with children 0 -5 years of age, whether they participate in playgroup or not, are invited to take part in fun events to be held in every state and territory. |

This year’s theme ‘Celebrating Playgroup - A World of Connections’ sums up what’s great about playgroups – helping families connect with each other and with their local community.
Playgroup is an informal session where mums, dads, grandparents, caregivers, children and babies meet up in a relaxed environment. The adults stay to interact with other adults and to play with their children.
Currently over 105,000 families regularly participate in playgroup at halls, neighbourhood centres, churches, private homes and parks and that figure is growing.
There’s really no typical playgroup these days. You’ll see families from all walks of life at playgroup.

Adelaide
Be at The Beachouse, Colley Tce, Glenelg on Wednesday 24 March, 9am - 1pm for fun featuring Ticklish Allsorts, Brett Maher, Train & Carousel Rides, Jumping J-Jays Castle, Assorted Activities, Face Painting, Treasure Hunt, Stalls, Giveaways! Gold Coin Donation.
Sydney
Join Playgroup NSW for National Playgroup Week over three days at the Australian National Maritime Museum from Monday 22 – Wednesday 24 March. Entry is free and the Museum will be packed full of activities for 0-5 year olds. World's Biggest Playgroup Day will be celebrated at the Museum on Wednesday 24 March with special guests, activities and shows by popular children's entertainers including Peter Combe and My Friend Mark.
Melbourne
World’s Biggest Playgroup
Come and join the fun with other playgroupers at the Melbourne Museum in Carlton on Wednesday 24 March 10am to 1pm. Lots of hands on activities, give aways and special appearance by the Playgroup Victoria Bear. Visit the Dinosaur Walk and The Wild exhibitions. Adults are $8, children and concession free.
Canberra
World’s Biggest Playgroup incorporating Parentline’s Ainslie Paint and Play
Come along during National Playgroup Week on Wednesday 24 March at Wakefield Gardens, Ainslie (behind the Ainslie shops) from 9.45am to 11.45am and discover some great ideas you can do with your child at home or at playgroup. Get information about playgroups and how to join ACT Playgroups. Parentline’s Ainslie Paint and Play will be providing painting for the children and YMCA will have lots of fun physical activates to try. ACT Playgroups will be offering sand and water play, playdough gardens to create, stories, music crafts, parachute and a special area just for babies.
Darwin
National Playgroup Week at Crocodylus Park
All families are invited to Crocodylus Park, Berrimah on Wednesday 24 March, starting from 9.30am and finishing at about 12 noon. Enjoy a sausage sizzle breakfast, guided tour with crocodile feeding, exotic animals, and the chance to have your child photographed with a snake, baby croc, or sea turtle! Entry for adults is $15 and children over 5 pay $5, while 5 years and under get in for free. Tickets can be purchased from Crocodylus Park.

Playgroup Children's Festival
Join us at the Brisbane Powerhouse for a week-long celebration of Play, Monday 22 to Friday 26 March. A daily program from 9am-12noon featuring activities for children under school age including music workshops, painting, craft, storytelling, cooking workshops, sport and exercise activities.
