Project Officer  -  PlayConnect Playgroups

Tenure: 38 hours per week, until December 2010 (subject to review and ongoing funding)

Remuneration: SACS Award Level 7 (commencing $26.99 per hour)

Location: National Office, Stones Corner, Queensland

JOB PURPOSE

The Project Officer - PlayConnect Playgroups is a pivotal role assisting  with the coordination of the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Playgroups Program, funded by the Australian Government and managed by Playgroup Australia.

The person employed in the role will be required to work closely with Playgroup Australia’s National Program Manager, ASD Adviser and professionals from other community organisations to undertake the following key tasks:

  • scoping  and reviewing PlayConnect Playgroup site proposals and recommendations
  • directing and monitoring the implementation and progress of PlayConnect Playgroups -  inclusive of quality assurance and
  • compliance, and risk management
  • induction, leadership, and training of PlayConnect personnel
  • regular communication with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Playgroups Program stakeholders 
  • convening and facilitating Stakeholder Reference Groups for the Program
  • timely collection and analysis of evaluation data
  • preparation of reports.

ASD Adviser  -  PlayConnect Playgroups

JOB PURPOSE

The ASD Adviser  -  PlayConnect Playgroups is a specialist role supporting the implementation of the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Playgroups Program, funded by the Australian Government under the ‘Helping Children with Autism’ package and managed by Playgroup Australia.

The person employed in the role will be required to work closely with Playgroup Australia’s National Program Manager, PlayConnect Playgroups Project Officers, PlayConnect Playgroups Development Workers and professionals from other community organisations to undertake the following key duties associated with the position:

  • Develop and disseminate information and resources to support national consistency and a specialised approach to the delivery of PlayConnect Playgroups that are supportive of the needs of client families and their children
  • Provide specialist advice to PlayConnect personnel and client families as appropriate to support the participation of families with children with ASD and ASD-like symptoms in playgroups
  • Liaise with other professionals and stakeholders from the community, health, education, government and non-government sectors to facilitate the implementation and delivery of playgroups for families with children with ASD
